“South Philly Musicians Remix,” Mural Arts Philadelphia

The Mural Arts Philadelphia project “South Philly Musicians Remix” memorializes South Philadelphia’s music legacy by portraying Bandstand-era musicians who contributed to Philadelphia’s rich cultural history. Muralist Eric Okdeh’s projectre places a similarly themed mural that fell into disrepair. Musicians featured in the current mural include Frankie Avalon, Chubby Checker, James Darren, Eddie Fisher, Fabian, Charlie Gracie, Al Martino, Bobby Rydell and Jerry Blavat.
