National Shrine of Saint Katharine Drexel
Rejecting her life as a socialite, Katharine Drexel became an advocate for African- and Native-Americans. At the Sisters of the Blessed Sacrament in Bensalem right outside of Philadelphia, the National Shrine of Saint Katharine Drexel recounts her accomplishments and features a video about her life, artifacts from black and native cultures and a number of her belongings. Visitors to the shrine, the Mission Center and St. Elizabeth’s Chapel are welcome to participate in programs on social justice.
