Schuylkill Banks Boardwalk

Schuylkill Banks Boardwalk

The over-the-water Schuylkill Banks Boardwalk extends the Schuylkill River Trail by four blocks to the South Street Bridge. Part of the East Coast Greenway Alliance, which stretches from Maine to Florida, the popular Schuylkill River Trail sees about 19,000 weekly users, and those runners, bikers stroller pushers and dog walkers enjoy this accessible and scenic connection to the Graduate Hospital and University City neighborhoods. The 15-foot-wide concrete boardwalk features three entry points (one at Locust Street and two from the South Street Bridge), solar-powered lights and widened overlooks for enjoying the city’s “hidden river” and breathtaking skyline.
