Washington Avenue Green

Washington Avenue Green

Washington Avenue Green, formerly an industrial pier and major Philadelphia immigration station, has been transformed into an eco-friendly, wetlands park. Visitors can stroll the boardwalk leading to the river’s edge, enjoy the plantings and peruse interpretive panels that outline the pier’s historic roots. At the water’s edge is “Land Buoy,” a public art installation by Jody Pinto that allows visitors to climb a spiral staircase to take in the panoramic Delaware River and city views.
