Philadelphia Zoo

Philadelphia Zoo

Though the Philadelphia Zoo is the nation’s oldest, its redesigned children’s zoo, now called KidZooU, represents one of the newest children’s zoos. All of the exhibits in the Hamilton Family Children’s Zoo & Faris Family Education Center were designed to provide up-close-and-personal experiences for children. The outdoor experience includes goats, sheep, chickens, ducks, a herd of mini horses and pigeons. Inside the Education Center is a large flock of budgies, a butterfly exhibit, a marine fish tank, rare frogs, a chick hatchery, an ant colony, insects and a domestic rat playground.
