City Tavern

City Tavern

The history is in the food—and the décor, service and beer—at City Tavern, located just steps from Independence National Historical Park in the Old City neighborhood. A replica of the 1773 restaurant where Founding Fathers once gathered, City Tavern offers Colonial dishes and drinks, including an ale created from George Washington’s own recipe.
