The Greater Philadelphia Tourism Marketing Corporation (GPTMC) makes Philadelphia and The Countryside® a premier destination through marketing and image building that increases business and promotes the region’s vitality.

GPTMC is a private, non-profit organization founded and funded in 1996 by the City of Philadelphia, the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the Pew Charitable Trusts. In 1997, GPTMC launched the first consumer campaign to promote to potential tourists the diverse historical, cultural and entertainment/leisure aspects of the five-county region (Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery and Philadelphia).

Every day, GPTMC reaches out to thousands of people to encourage them to choose Philadelphia as their next great vacation destination. Because our region has so much to offer, we promote it to people with all sorts of interests—history, heritage, arts and culture, food, outdoor adventure, shopping, you name it. GPTMC’s goal is to inspire them to come find out what makes Philadelphia fun, authentic, historic, accessible and worth discovering.
